Our Wines Fortified Range
Renowned and multi award-winning, our range of fortified wines offers great variety. The Muscat de Frontignan vineyards that our white and red Muscadels originate from, are planted in deep alluvial soils that are rich in clay. Combined with a long ripening period filled with lots of sunny days, this ensures grapes with deep and intense muscat flavours. The range also includes a port-style Cape Ruby, sherries and jerepigos.
Hanepoot – Muscat d’ Alexandrie
Billowing muscat aromas. Subtle fruity with a touch of pineapple and orange peels on the palate.
Deep golden hue; Powerful intensity of ripe fruit blossoms, loaded with nuances of dried figs. Quite light and uncloying on the palate.
Orange-red hue; Intense beeswax-like Muscadel aromas combined with raisin fruit; all confirmed in the rich aftertaste.
Golden-yellow colour. Rich honeysuckle bouquet, underplayed with sweet spicy flavours.
Deep plum coloured. Earthy with fruitcake aromas portraying rich plum and ripe pineapple flavours.
Old-gold colour; nutty and intense. Full flavoured on the nose and palate.
Light brown with tinges of gold; barley sugar bouquet with a touch of honey. Elegantly sweet.
Golden-orange with tints of light brown. Pronounced raisin scent on the nose. Rich, nutty and warm, rendering a great taste.
Medium red. Almond aromas mixed with crushed raisins. Dryish on the palate, elegant overall.
After 3 weeks of air-drying, the grapes were crushed and allowed to ferment and mature in old 225 liter oak barrels. This unique process leads to an amber-hued wine expressing peach and other fruit flavours, whilst maintaining a clean freshness.
